Guided by founder Mike Northcott, an experienced leader in the publishing sector, our partnership with Mocono endeavoured to transform his visionary design concept into a tangible business. In an industry where paywalls are paramount, Mike's distinct vision emerged from having licenced multiple platforms that fell short of the mark, so he decided to design his own, one tailored to the specific demands of the publishing landscape. Drawing on his expertise and insights from industry peers, Mike partnered with MTP to breathe life into his innovative idea and craft a business that addresses the unique needs of publishers. Our collaboration bore testament to our dedication to transforming visionary concepts into thriving ventures driven by market demand and deep domain expertise.
The Mocono journey began with a visionary concept and a design, and it was at this juncture that MTP stepped in as a catalyst for transformation. Collaborating through our Venture Studio, we incubated the idea, nurturing it from its nascent state into a fully-fledged venture. During this incubation, we meticulously refined the business model, enabling Mocono to articulate its proposition effectively to potential investors. To this end, we created a comprehensive data room as a platform to showcase the concept's potential as a formidable business opportunity.
Despite the challenging backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, the strength of Mocono's proposition shone through. Within a mere five months, we successfully navigated a fundraising endeavour, securing crucial backing that propelled the venture forward. Following this, our dedicated product engineering team swung into action diligently constructing the MVP. With the MVP primed for launch, Mocono leveraged industry contacts to embark on a robust beta testing phase, ensuring that the product resonated perfectly with user needs.
Upon finalising the product, Mocono confidently entered the market and quickly built traction, securing a global client base within just six months. As the platform's popularity grew, MTP’s Support team worked hand-in-hand with Mike, the founder, to maintain the platform's performance and facilitate the onboarding of new clients, some of whom required tailored solutions.
Simultaneously, our lead generation team embarked on strategic email campaigns, fostering interest and scheduling product demos. As Mocono's growth continued, plans for its expansion took shape. An impending Series A fundraise in Q4 2023 is set to catalyse the launch of the next service within its expanding universe of publisher-centric tools.
